OUR PRESCHOOL LEVELS
We’ve worked with young children long enough to know that the early years aren’t something to rush through. Every program we offer is built around what kids at each age actually need. Not just academically, but socially and emotionally too.
Learning here is hands-on because that’s what works at this age. Children retain more, engage more, and frankly enjoy school more when they’re doing things rather than just being told things. That’s not a philosophy we put on a brochure, it’s just what we’ve seen over the years.
Each level builds on the last, and we’re thoughtful about that progression. If you want to know more about a specific program, take a look below.
2s and 3s – Nursery
Our Nursery Program at Goodstart is designed for young children who are just beginning to explore the world beyond home. Each 2-hour class gives them a gentle introduction to learning through stories, music, art, and hands-on activities that actually make sense for where they are developmentally.
Children work on early literacy, numeracy, and motor skills. But honestly, a lot of the real learning happens in the in-between moments. Sharing materials, waiting for a turn, figuring out how to say what they need.
We keep the day balanced between active and quiet time, and we keep things warm. Kids this age need to feel safe before they can really learn, and that’s what we build first.
Our preschool in Quezon City has been doing this long enough to know that the early years matter and that how a child feels about school at age three can shape everything that comes after.
4s – Pre – Kindergarten
By this age, children are ready for a bit more. More structure, more challenge, more time to dig into things. Our Pre-Kindergarten program runs 2.5 hours and gives them exactly that.
We work through language, math, science, and the arts in ways that are hands-on and genuinely engaging. Writing and communication get real attention here, not just as skills but as tools kids start to actually use. Problem-solving too! We want them thinking, not just following steps. Mandarin starts at this level as well.
What changes most from the younger years is that children begin to navigate group work, disagreements, and longer tasks on their own. That independence doesn’t come from being pushed, it comes from being in an environment where it’s safe to try and okay to struggle a little.
5s – Kindergarten
Kindergarten is where a lot of things come together. Each class covers language arts, math, science, creative arts, and Mandarin with real attention on reading and writing because the jump to primary school is real.
But preparation isn’t just academic. We pay equal attention to how children handle challenges, express themselves, and work with others. By the end of the year, most of our kids are genuinely excited about what comes next.
That’s usually a good sign we’ve done something right.
